My Fiere
An Ode To Scottish Designers, Landscape and Friendship.
The editorial title ‘My Fiere’ comes from a Jackie Kay poem about friendship. It’s utterly beautiful, and encapsulated the feeling of friendship, rooted in landscape, and the magic in the years that go by.
This shoot was dreamt up by 3 friends: Cal Douglas, Emmi Keane and myself. Over the last ten years the three of us have imagined various iterations of this shoot, but it wasn’t until last April that we managed to come together for three glorious days to create some magic in the spring sunshine. Emmi and Cal travelled up to the Highlands and we shot everything within half an hour of my house. Cal is an exceptional photographer and Emmi a model in a past life, as well as all-round creative force of nature - naturally location was my specialty. We reached out to designers and makers we’ve long admired or worked with before, and created a capsule collection of looks that celebrate Scottish design in a language that felt exciting and new.
We hope that the joy of those days translate to these images and that they celebrate the things we hold dear: landscape, friendship and creativity.
